As is the case with many commercials that air during the big game, Budweiser’s “Don’t Drive Drunk” ad (featuring Helen Mirren) poured plenty of resources into ensuring that this sixty-second clip would effectively build their brand. A careful analysis begs the question — is the argument’s purpose to diminish drunk driving, or to sell more beer?
